PHATBOTTOM SPEEDWAY

A Thank You Letter From

PHAT BOTTOM SPEEDWAY

Kelly and I would like to say thank you to all of the drivers, fans, friends and endless hours of help and support from our volunteers. Last season was great and we expect bigger things for the upcoming season. We know that none of this would be possible without the help and support of all of you. This isn’t much, but it is a true, heartfelt and sincere thank you.

We are trying some new things this season. We are running with both ARMA and SOMA. We WILL be enforcing safety more thoroughly and this is not a dig at anyone, its simple safety. We do this to have fun, things will happen, but we can prevent so much by just doing the common sense thing. We are looking for a great season, some good racing and a bigger fan base. Our point’s leaders this year will have the top three (3) in each class invited to GA for a bounty race with SOMA. Unfortunately this year the driver will have to pay $6.00 for his own insurance per race. I will still cover the track as before, but I can’t afford to cover the racers. I understand that this will not set well with many, but this is just how it has to be. Membership applications will be handed out for sign up at the first race or you can go online to do them. Unfortunately, you will need to belong to either ARMA or SOMA. They no longer honor each other’s members as they did last year. Please understand that NONE of this money comes to me or to this track, but they do offer me insurance and we will not race here without it. Again, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that is involved from the fan on the tailgate to the guys putting on the show, we couldn’t do this without any of you.

We will be hosting the Carolina Garden Tractor Pullers this year as well. These guys will put on a show and you will have a good time watching. We will have some photos and maybe a video of them posted on our web site soon. You will also be able to find the rules for them on that page.

I would like to say congratulations to last year’s champions

Eric Perez (913) - Modified

Chris Blevins (9)-V-Twin

Doug Bailey (3)-Super Stock Single

Doug Bailey (3)-Stock

I would also like to name just of few of the people that work tirelessly at making this happen and keeping you informed.

My wife Kelly who often gives up the time with her horses to help make this thing happen.

Charlie Willis, can’t say enough about Charlie. A great friend and someone that is always there for me.

Randy and Danny Hall, can’t really say enough about either of them. They are there whenever I need them and often before I can ask.

Earl Keller, without Earl none of this would have ever happened. We built these tracks together with many long hours on tractor seats and a lot of design ideas.

These guys are all behind the scenes, but every bit as important as anyone out there. They are great friends, great neighbors, and as far as Kelly and I are concerned family.

I also need to thank Ghorley Landscaping for his service of the final maintenance that helps to level the track out. What he gets done has made a huge impact on the quality of our track.

The assistance of Danny Blevins never goes unnoticed. He runs his butt of during the race trying to get line ups right, keep track of points, and a million other things he does for us.

Lastly, but as we all know just as important, I would like to send out a personal thank you to Tiffany Horne. Tiffany works hard to keep the web site up and running. She has a lot on her plate, but she somehow always gets it done. Thank you Tiffany, you make life much easier for me.

Let’s get out there, have fun and remember what this is all about, friendship, fun, and talking smack.

Thank you,

Kenneth Hart
